My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that clients are the drivers of their success and my position is that of support and safety. My belief is that therapy is meant to be a space designed collaboratively with my clients that can take on many forms. I operate in a feminist framework in therapy, which looks like positioning clients in their social circumstances and being aware of different social contexts each of us live in. My work is deeply rooted in social justice and I aim to take a stance of empowerment for my clients. In an effort to do so, I often employ REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy) principles in my work and utilize the ACT model to reframe lived experience and develop unconditional self acceptance.
I have experience in navigating the complex nature of different family dynamics. I enjoy unpacking prior experiences in the family unit utilizing a trauma informed perspective. A focus of my clinical work has been processing dynamic presentations of depression and anxiety. I am passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community and have a specialization in LGBTQIA+ counseling services. I have worked with clients exploring the complex nature of gender and sexual identity, healthy relationship dynamics in the queer community and self empowerment and love in this exploration.
If you feel I could be helpful in your journey, I look forward to connecting with you.
